'Ama' - The Trouble Maker

What is Ama?👹 Ama is a Sanskrit word that translates literally to mean things like “unripe,” “uncooked,” “raw,”. • Ama is a toxin that builds up in the body due to an improper diet or lifestyle or pollution. When our ability to digest food becomes impaired, the body can no longer absorb essential nutrients. Then the undigested food lingers in the body, leading to the formation of ama. And according to the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda, ama is the root cause of nearly all diseases. 🔥AGNI AND 👹AMA RELATION: Ama is a toxic, disease-causing substance that forms as a result of IMPAIRED AGNI(digestive fire), and that, in turn, destroys Agni. In other words, when Agni is jeopardized and when ama accumulates, our health suffers, and the two situations are mutually reinforcing 👩‍⚕️As Ayurveda physicians its extremely important for us to determine and properly diagnose the condition of AGNI (digestive fire) which will, in turn, help us to know if there is Ama present in the body of the patient. 👇Signs & Symptoms of Ama: Coating on the tongue, all kinds of congestion, loss of strength, dull eyes, skin blemishes, fevers, excess weight, poor circulation, stiffness or inhibited movement, generalized aches and pains, loss of appetite, indigestion, bloating, gas, constipation, Ama is also often responsible for foul-smelling breath, mucus, urine, and stools. Mentally and emotionally, ama leads to a distinct lack of energy and enthusiasm, low self-esteem, anxiety, worry, depression ⚡️General Support for Digesting & Eliminating Ama: 💁‍♀️Fortunately, there are a number of ways to encourage the body to digest ama and eliminate it from the body👇 Therapeutic Herbs, Sweating, Sun Bathing, Yoga, Proper diet, Fasting, Cultivating a Supportive State of Mind.
